Yandex Eats disclosed leaked orders and phone numbers in 2022
Yandex Eats disclosed a leak on 1 March 2022. Phone numbers and order details appeared online. The company said payment information and passwords were unaffected.
The company blamed an employee. Order contents and delivery times were exposed; Yandex did not give the precise leak date.
Yandex Eats contacted law enforcement and promised to email affected customers. It also announced plans to end manual processing of this information and cut staff access to order data by at least threefold.
On 14 April Roskomsvoboda told RBC that 20 customers had filed a collective lawsuit seeking 100,000 roubles each. The court told the outlet it had not yet registered the claim. This concerned consequences of the March leak, not a new disclosure.
